Leadership:
An Engineer's Viewpoint
What is the purpose of this site?
Leadership comes in many different forms and styles. Each person has their own unique definition. Some believe that a leadership is taught while others believe it is inherent. We do not adhere to any of of these philosophies. Instead, we want to provide our viewpoints of leadership through our engineering studies. Hence, we designed this site to serve as a tool of reference and learning to help you develop your own or your peers leadership capabilities. We hope to help you find your "right" form of leadership; the one that works for you!
Who are we?
Besides having a passion to lead and cultivate the talents of our peers, we are a diverse group of undergraduate students at the University of Maryland pursing a minor in Engineering Leadership Development.
Specifically, the Minor in Engineering Leadership development is designed to help engineering students for life-long leadership roles in education, industry, and government. The minor complements the tchnical skills and knowledge we acquire during our academic careers to better prepare us for leadership and collaborative roles in our professional futures. Students in this minor complete coreswork which focuses on communicatoin global awareness, project management, understanding oneself and working effectively with others. We also frequently talk to seasoned leaders and experts in our interested fields to gain real life insight and exposure.
